POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The primary function of the Dental Hygienist is to examine, chart, take radiographic surveys, and perform periodontal therapies on patients. A Pediatric Dental Hygienist works with Pediatric patients, encourages oral hygiene and teaches proper dental care to children. The Hygienist is directly responsible to the Dentists for assignment of duties which include patient care and domestic chores. The Hygienist supervises her own patient therapy but communicates patient needs and appointments with the Dentists, and coordinates duties and responsibilities with the Dentists and other dental ancillary personnel.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent training and experience.
• A two- or four-year degree of Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
• Florida Board of Dentistry license.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bilingual skills English/Spanish preferred.
